Dont sleep on R&B newcomer Asante Phenix

Not much is known about Asante Phenix, but the newcomer’s Hi Tech Lo Life EP showcases a unique voice that will pique interest for fans of the genre. Lead track “Last Nite”, which the Brooklyn artist calls an ode to “embracing youth during confusing times,” is smooth and futuristic, sweeping over its of-the-moment minimalist beat. It has been a good 2017 so far for R&B upstarts — from Khalid to 6LACK and beyond — and Phenix is certainly a contender to be the latest on that wave.
